Titan our loving dobe companion was originally called green boy from the green yarn given to him to identify him from his litter mates. He was as Denise told our daughter, who ultimately picked him a bit of a rebel rouser and the name given to him Titan Big man--- became Big Dog. He loved the mountains where we lived and he bounded for hours up the steep slopes . He was the proverbial town sheriff always on the lookout for the bears, elk or deer that inhabited our area. ( see pics). He lived with two min pins (see pics) as well and his fondness for vegetables from our large garden convinced the two older min pins to try the vegan way too. Another of his passions was swimming and chasing sticks balls and logs that we constantly threw into the Kootenay and Arrow lakes on our beach visits. The bigger the better and he would maneuver the logs like the proverbial tug boat captain navigating obstacles and delivering his wooden cargo to the beach time and time again. He was undaunted by the weather and if water and a stick were present he was the third ingredient to the playful mix ( see pic Nelson Polar Bear Swim New Years Day 2010)
He loved to eat and the vegetables and cooked hamburger / chicken were his favorites. Our parents often stated that when they die they wanted to come back as a Loggie dog. Titan died after Xmas 2010 as he lay on our living room floor breathing heavily with the two min pins beside him. He is resting up on the mountain side that he dearly loved with the tall trees and streams that he effortlessly bounded over with energy on a daily basis. He will be sorely missed by our family and we walk by him daily and speak to his spirit on the mountain. / The Loggies Sentinel Mountain Sanctuary BC
