Trucker is owned and loved by our good friends Andrea and Kevin Hansen of Calgary, AB.
Trucker completed his Canadian Championship in style during a Doberman Specialty weekend in B.C., earning a BOW/BOS for a 5 point win under Dr Nelson DeSoto. This same weekend, he was Best In Sweepstakes at the BC Doberman Specialty. Trucker will take some time to grow up, but we are looking very forward to him entering the show ring once he has matured. A special thank you to our friend Danica Eiswerth, a fabulous junior handler for showing Trucker beautifully at the BC show, and to handler Shaunna Bernardin for showing him in Alberta.
In August 2008 Trucker won Best Opposite Sex at the DPCC National Specialty under Breeder/Judge Linda Krukar. To say we were thrilled is an understatement! There was a very competitive and large entry, and to be given this honour under a Breeder/Judge of Linda Krukar's caliber was fabulous. Trucker is a nice standard, beautifully moving dog. Thank you to Trucker's friend Carla Giroux of Montana for handling him to this win.
Dec/08 Trucker is such a tolerant, mellow-tempered boy, that he is now attending Junior Handling classes so that his young friend Kathleen and others may use him to learn to handle a doberman in conformation. He will be entered as Exhibition Only at some shows so they can compete in Junior Handling with him. All the kids at the classes love Trucker!
Trucker is a daddy! He is the proud sire of puppies by Cdn Ch Paws Here Never Miss a Beat (Cady). You can check the link to the puppies on the news page and Andrea and Kevin own the litter under their new kennel name "Kandem".
Trucker's WSU cardio test came back with Positive Herozygous (i.e. 1 negative, 1 positive). Since this test is new, there will be many dobermans with this, and we cannot remove them all from the gene pool due to the small size of that pool. However, Andrea was not comfortable doing a breeding knowing that Trucker may later develop cardio, as could his kids if they inherited his 1 positive gene. So the tough decision was made to place Trucker in a pet home. He is the only dog, and loving it and being loved to pieces by his new owners who have now neutered him.
